The Oakville district is home to some of Napa Valley’s most renowned Cabernets and the mountain vineyards of Oakville Ranch yield grapes with the deep cassis and classic berry flavors characteristic of the Ranch’s red volcanic soil.
The 2012 Cabernet is a perfect expression of an excellent vintage in the Napa Valley, displaying dark cherry, cassis and fresh raspberry, with layers of cedar, clove, leather and black pepper. A fruit-forward wine with a juicy center, it opens with fresh fruits and finishes with coffee, tobacco and dark chocolate notes. The tannins are tight, fine-grained and supple, with a velvety middle and a long finish freshened with acidity.
