Sparse rainfall again led to concerns of drought conditions in 2022, when a mild winter and warm spring led to early budbreak. A few spring rains and warm days gave a push to canopy development and the season progressed evenly until early September heat shortened the growing season and led to a compressed harvest of two weeks in mid-September. The vintage produced a charming Cabernet Sauvignon, supple and juicy with red fruit notes of cherry and raspberry and sweet, balanced tannins. A pleasing minerality leads to a long finish and a delightful expression of vineyard site and vintage.
